Welcome to the website of MEDANZ:

We are a non-profit Incorporated Society for dancers and enthusiasts.

MEDANZ provides a network for dancers and also maintains a list of
New Zealand teachers.

Middle Eastern Dance is a term, which includes a number of dances, which originated around the Mediterranean and North Africa. It is often known as "Belly Dance" in
the West.

We are open to Dancers (students, amateurs and professionals), Teachers, Musicians, Vendors, and general supporters.

New Website update

Welcome to the new MEDANZ website.

Please be aware that it might take us some time to get all areas of the website updated and back up and running but we will do our best to get this done as soon as possible.

Below you will see a list of the areas which are still under construction so check back every now and then to see what's new.

Besides moving across content from the previous website we are also looking for new things which members and non-members might want to contribute.  For example we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to share any of the following:

  • Details of events coming up in your area
  • Photos of yourself, your troupe or your events for the new Gallery
  • Belly Dance related articles or reviews
  • Updated information on teachers and dancers in your area
