MEDANZ 25th Anniversary Festival 2017

The Middle Eastern Dance Association of New Zealand was established 25 years ago to provide a supportive environment for Middle Eastern Dance (MED), to foster interest and understanding by sharing information and educating the general public about its origins, developing and promoting ethical standards, providing a forum for dancers to discuss significant issues to the community, and facilitating learning and performance opportunities.
In 2000 the Christchurch committee created the first MEDANZ festival.  Since then it has travelled to Nelson, Wellington, Timaru, Auckland, Tauranga, Dunedin, Orewa (Auckland), Christchurch, Wellington, and in 2017 returns to Christchurch for our Silver Anniversary celebration over Easter weekend (14-17 April 2017).
Our Festival offers dance and drum workshops, theatre and casual performances, social activities, teachers workshops and discussions, and a Bazaar and Open Stage.  All members, as well as the general public, are welcome. Tickets are available now from EventFinder (Festival pass prices).
