Explaining connections between Middle Eastern music and dance. Having fun exploring different layers in the music and enjoying group dynamics. Other Middle Eastern hand drums are also included. The Teacher: First got introduced to ME drumming in Germany 1986 by Bruno Assenmacher covering about 15 of the most common ME rhythms. Later started again in 2005 and since then learned from Yeow, Matt Stonehouse and HandsOn. Being a dancer by trade knowledge of rhythms is in existence. Sessions are done together with Andrea who advises on playing frame drums. Started MEM: 1986 Started Teaching: 1986 Joined MEDANZ: 1998 Training for Teaching: NZ Adult Tutor Training course (2008).
