07 576 4112 Philosophy: We are dedicated in supporting Middle Eastern dance in our community through a laid back, fun atmosphere, with weekly practices open to everyone. We dance Egyptian style bellydance, and mostly we dance with each other, for each other. Occasionally we perform at charity events but no-one is obliged to do so! The Teacher: I started Belly Dancing in 2004 with Tanya Bamford-King and started performing in a group, in public in 2005. I loved the music, dance and costumes from the first day and still have a driving passion for the art of Belly Dance. I learn all the time from workshops, MEDANZ Festivals, local teachers, instructional DVDs and Belly dance Retreats. My classes cater for those who just come along for a fun way of keeping fit, who love to come and put on some jingles and sparkles and shimmy, and those individuals who wish to drill moves and develop their dancing style to performance level. The Teacher: I have been a yoga teacher for around 10 years and moved to New Zealand 5 years ago from Cheltenham, England. My introduction to belly dance came 4 years ago and I was hooked after my first lesson. When our teacher moved to Australia, I took over the weekly classes.
